THE DICAPRIO CODE
The DiCaprio Code is an animated web series I created for the Walt Disney Internet Group that was originally streamed on Movies.com. It is a satire of star driven, punopalluza of Hollywood thrillers that spoofs The DiVinci Code. Michael Douglas is murdered in the famed Chinese Theater and it is up to Tom Cruise and Catherine Zeta-Jones to catch the killer and unravel the mystery of the DiCaprio Code.
The concept was to have paper-cut-out characters with slightly off-kilter animation over photographic backgrounds. I did the storyboards, character design, props, animation, and backgrounds. I spent hours over the course of the series running all over Hollywood photographing famous settings trying to imagine where the animated characters would later fit in. The characters were done in Illustrator and Flash, the animation was done in Flash, and the backgrounds edited in Photoshop. The series won a Telly Award for "Best Use of Humor."
