TROY

An average gay guy in an above average world.

Troy follows the everyday trials and tribulations of Troy, an average, young, gay guy and his impossibly good-looking friends in their quest for sex, love, and the perfect six pack.

One of the longest running, regularly published gay comics, Troy ran from June 1998 until April 2012 in alternative publications throughout the world.

Michael Derry is an award-winning pop artist, cartoonist, and storyteller best known for Troy Comics, the popular gay comic strip that appeared in LGBTQ+ publications worldwide from 1998 to 2013. His animated Troy short screened at film festivals around the world and has amassed more than 800,000 views on YouTube.

Frankie’s Place grew out of Michael’s desire to tell different kinds of stories with different kinds of characters. Inspired by his love of soap operas, the over-the-top theatrics and characters of classic monster movies, and his original love, Scooby-Doo, the series brings those influences together in a setting that is both familiar and fun. Growing up around his grandfather’s tavern and later bartending in clubs in Chicago and West Hollywood helped make a monster-filled bar feel like the perfect place to let his love of monsters run loose.

POP Boys grew out of Michael’s love of superheroes, pop art, and the Saturday morning cartoons of his youth. His pop art mashups can be found in shops throughout the US and Canada and online at Swish Embassy.
